ETHEL LOREAN ARCHER CLARKE, formerly of Duvall Avenue, Baltimore, MD, departed this life in Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Beaufont Health Care Center.
She was a former teacher in the Baltimore City School System and an Associate Professor at Morgan State University.
She is survived by a devoted niece, Janice Archer Whitaker (Robert), eight nephews, devoted James Henry (Frances), Archer Lee, Delmas (Audrey), Anthony (Gwenevere), and Kenneth W. Taylor, A. Steward (Violet), Phillip (Darlene) and Gerald (Jean) Archer. Several great and great-great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, among them, the staff at Beaufont Health Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Clarke; her parents Samuel Adolphus Archer and Bettie Frances Austin Archer; three sisters Phoebe A. Walker, Bettie Lee A. Taylor, and Mary A. Mosby; and one brother Albert S. Archer, Sr.
Remains rested at Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets, Richmond, VA, where the family received friends from 6pm to 8pm Saturday, August 24, 2002. A Funeral Service was held Monday, August 26, 2002 at 12 noon at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2604 Banister Rd., Baltimore, Maryland. The family received friends one hour before the service. Interment at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Rd., Baltimore, MD. Services by Nutter Funeral Home, Baltimore, MD.
