Mrs. Archie Babcock
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lydia Babcock, 80, of North Bend, will be at 7:30 o'clock Thursday evening at the Newman Funeral Home, Snoqualmie. Burial will be Friday in Washougal, Clark County.
Mrs. Babcock died Friday in a nursing home. Born in Winneschiek County, Iowa, she graduated from Highland Park College in Iowa. In 1907 she went to Portland, where she was a pharmacist's assistant in the hospital. Moving to Seattle in 1909, she worked at Seattle General Hospital, then moved to Glennwood, Klickatat County, where she taught school. She and her husband, Archie, who died in 1928, then went to Washougal.
Mrs. Babcock came to Seattle during the Second World War. She was supervisor of the Woodland Park Nursing Home here. She had lived in North Bend 20 years, the past nine with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Scott.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Scott, North Bend, and two sons, Ralph, North Bend and Bruce Babcock, Maple Valley.
