Everett Daily Herald
7-25-1912
John M. Babcock died last night at 8:10 at his late home, 2118 Grand ave., from a stoke of paralysis. The deceased, a well-known figure for sixteen years in Everett, was 72 years of age and has been in fairly good health until recently. He is survived by a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Roy Sargeant, of Everett, Mrs. G.H. Phillips, of Snohomish, a son Frank Babcock, of Everett, and a step-son C.J. House, also of this city. John M. Babcock, "Judge" Babcock, as he was called, because of his earlier position as justice of the peace, has lived in Everett sixteen years, being engaged in real estate business most of the time. He had many friends. The deceased was a Mason and a veteran of the civil war. The funeral will be held from the late home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, followed by interment in Evergreen cemetery.
