DANVILLE, Va. - Ola Clark Abbott, 87, of 665 Mill Creek Road, in Pittsylvania County, died Monday, August 25, 2003 at her residence.
Born April 8, 1916, in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Alex Clark and Jenny Betts Clark.
Mrs. Abbott had lived all of her life in Pittsylvania County and had been in declining health for the past eleven years.
She was a homemaker and sold produce at the Danville Curb Market for many years.
She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her generation.
She was married to Lindsey Carter Abbott, who predeceased her November 13, 1986.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Abbott Motley and her husband Robert Motley Jr. of Danville; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Lamarr Mooneyham officiating.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Dorothy, 721 Mill Creek Road, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
