HOOPER - Our beloved wife, mother and friend, Gwen Clark Boggs, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at her home. She was born June 24, 1932 in Hooper, Utah, the daughter of Eldon S. and Clara Jensen Clark.
She was born and raised in Hooper, Utah; graduated from Weber High School and attended Stevens-Henager College. She lived in Santee, CA for 24 years and Hooper, UT for 52 years.
She met her sweetheart, James W. (Bill) Boggs, while they were serving in the Great Lakes Mission. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 29, 1959. She and her sweetheart celebrated their 50th anniversary last year.
Gwen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, including: Sunday School secretary; 18-months in the Great Lakes Mission, president and teacher in the Primary and Relief Society organizations; and various other callings.
She worked for Del Monte Corp., was a caregiver in a nursing home, and homemaker. She loved collecting dolls, ceramics, reading books, crocheting afghans, and being with her family. She especially loved her small dog, Smokee.
The family would like to thank Dr. John K. Reis and staff of Alpine Hospice for the loving care of their mother.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Tammy Boggs; a sister, Naomi Smith, all of Hooper; and a brother, Don Clark of Tucson, AZ. Preceding her in death were her parents and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Park Ward Bldg. 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper, UT. Family and friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., and on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
