Mable Maxine (Clark) Barnes, 76, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Hospice House in Bend, Oregon.
Mable was born to Chester and Florence (Bartow) Clark in Norco, Calififornia, on May 28, 1934. Mable and her family moved to Prineville, Oregon in 1938. She graduated from Crook County High School in 1952.
Mable married her loving husband Earl (Norman) Barnes on April 9, 1955 in Prineville. They spent their life together living in Prineville.
Mable worked for numerous organizations including Erickson's Department Store, Mode-O-Day, and the Crook County Health Department. Mable retired from the Crook County Assessor's office after many years of service.
In 1993, Mable received a liver transplant from OHSU. She was very proud of being one of the longest living transplant recipients.
Mable received the most satisfaction by spending time with her family and attending her family's activities. She also cherished time with her friends. In addition, she enjoyed spending winters RV-ing with her husband in Arizona and Southern California as well as crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; sons, Rick and his wife Audrey of Roseburg, Oregon, Randy and his wife Brenda of Bend, and Rodney and his wife Donna of Prineville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George.
