COTTAGE GROVE-The funeral will be held May 6 for Garnet Mae Brown of Cottage Grove, who died May 2 of age-related causes. She was 87.
She was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Curtin to Frank Clark and Violet Goble. She married Fred Brown in Roseburg in 1930. He died June 28, 1990.
She lived in the Anlauf and Curtin areas for 80 years. A homemaker she enjoyed raising her family, cooking and baking. She also liked to garden, camp, crochet afghans and travel, especially to Alaska. She was a member of the Chruch of the Nazarene in Corvallis.
Suvivors include two sons, James of Curtin and Allen of Anchorage, two daughters, Shirley Henderson and Marilyn Brown, both of Eugene; a sister Cloe Tevepaugh of Eugene; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Thursday's services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Comstock Cemetery in Curtin. Memorial contributions may be made to the cemetery.
