She was born August 31, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ and was raised in Ottille Orphan Home, Jamaica, NY. She served in the U.S. Navy from April 1946 to December 1951. She was a member of LAFRA Unit 91, WAVES National, Daughters of the Nile, and the Lakeshore Presbyterian Church.
She is predeceased by her husband, Garrie G. Clark, to whom she was married for forty-one years. She is survived by her son, Garrie G. Clark, his wife, Anne Wilson Clark, their children, Laura and James, all of Orange Park. She is also survived by many caregivers in her neighborhood and at various area nursing homes and hospitals that provided compassionate care to her since 2006, especially Dr. Ashok Roychoudhury who was her trusted physician and friend.
An interment service will be held in Jacksonville Memory Gardens on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service in Lakeshore Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m.
