Roselma May "Rose" Chappell
Roselma M. Chappell (age 77) passed away October 26, 2011 in Spokane.
She was born February 18, 1934 in Oakland, Maine, the daughter of Charles D. and Ruby (Perkins) Clark.
Rose graduated from Milton Williams High School in 1952 and then from Maine College of Nursing in 1955. In 1955, Rose married Perry C. Chappell, Sr. in Oakland, ME and she began her career in nursing which spanned 30 years. She worked as a nurse for The Civil Service at various Air Force Bases during her husband's tour of duty. She then spent 17 years working with Rockwood Clinic until retiring in 1993. She was super active participating in all types of athletics, including racquetball, bowling, Tai Chi, yoga, weight training, swimming and cardio activities. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, crocheting, puzzles and reading.
Rose is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Perry C. Chappell, Sr. of Spokane; children Landie (Steve Robinson) Chappell of Spokane, Perry C. (Doris) Chappell, Jr. of Spokane and Lacey (Victor) Chappell-Denaro; grandchildren Kyle, Mark, Angela, Mike, Paige, Mackenzie, Nicholas and Devin; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment services will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 3pm and will take place at The Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210
