Billy G. Clark of Benton passed away early Christmas morning. He was 80 years old. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that he is forever at home with the Savior he faithfully served.
On Christmas day of 1947, Pete married his love Betty Paschal Willoughby. Together, for 60 years, they experienced the joys of life in the loving companionship that the Lord had entrusted to them. Pete was active in the local Kiwanis Club and Red Cross; chaired the Benton City Parks & Recreation Board; managed the National Store for 37 years; owned the Ben Franklin store; and was an avid gardener and Walking Horse enthusiast. Pete and Betty were members of the Benton church of Christ for over 50 years.
Surviving along with his wife Betty are two daughters and one son: Pamela Gillihan of Lexington; Connie Harrison of Nashville; and Billy Clark of Reidland. "Poppy" is also remembered and loved by 6 grandchildren: Brandi, Jenny Beth, Brittany, Clark, Benjamin, and Cole; 7 great grandchildren: Mara, Sydney, Abby, Austin, Ethan, Mckenzie, and Braxton; and a sister, Dortha Mae Lewis of Huntsville, Alabama. Preceding him in death were his parents, Jack and Mabel Clark of Henry, Tennessee.
