Deacon Cottage Grove Baptist Church.

Jack Clark, 85, of Cottage Grove died Saturday Oct 21, 2006, at his residence.

He was married on Oct 28, 1942, to the former Martha Arnold, who survives.

His funeral service will be at 2 PM Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Paul Williams and Mike Waddy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden.

Grandchildren have been chosen as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray and Beverly Parker, Harold and Capitola Pillow and Tom, Tommy and Tim Hammond.

Visitation is set for 4-8 PM today and after noon Tuesday.

Born Feb 13, 1921, in Miston, Tenn., he was a son of the late Daniel Hiram Clark and Mattie Sanders Clark.

He was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon since 1966. A family member said he was an avid farmer. He was past president of the local chapter of the National Farmers Organization and a World War II US Army veteran.

He also leaves two daughters: Carole (Scott) Berryman of Cottage Grove and Anne (Dell) Coggins of Tunica, Miss.; one son: Larry (Linda) Clark of Cottage Grove;

Seven grandchildren: Jon Clark (Pam) Coggins, David Coggins, Stacy (Linda) Clark, Teresa Burgher, Brian (Tracy) Berryman, Carrie Anne Berryman and husband Marcel Rodriguez and John (Marie) Berryman of Cottage Grove;

Nine great-grandchildren: Calli and Addi Coggins, Brittany (Cody) Craig, Joey Trotter, Tiffany and Samantha Clark, Dayton Burgher, Lucas Rodriguez and Jake Berryman; and

Special caregivers: Gaynita Gallimore, Elizabeth Mead, Shirley Cole, Vernie Barnhill and Scarlett Richards.

He was also preceded in death by one son: Richard Everette Clark; four sisters: Aline and Gladys Clark, Frankie Ingraham and Pauline Stulgin; and three brothers: C.D., Robert and Lyman Clark.
