Julia Ann was the daughter of Garrett and Electa Seelye Clark of Rose, New York. She met George Mead in Lockport and they were married on 20 May 1863. They had two children, Josephine "Josie" and Benjamin "Bennie", both born in New York. George and Julie moved to Iowa where they farmed. After George's death in 1915, she moved and lived with her daughter in Minneapolis MN where she passed. She is buried next to George in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, IA.
