Paul Calvin Clark Sr. June 8, 1940- April 30, 2006 COLUMBUS, GAŚ Sergeant First Class Retired Paul Calvin Clark, Sr., 65, of 1107 Dunbar Ave., Columbus, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. with full military honors accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hill Watson Memorial Chapel, 2919 Hamilton Road, Columbus. Mr. Clark was born June 8, 1940 in McComas, West VA., son of Elizabeth Howell Clark-Cruz-Rios and the late Fletcher Elijah Clark. SFC Clark, Sr. gallantly served his country for 26 years. During his tenure with the military, he became a Master Para-Trooper and was deployed to Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. As part of the 1st Calvary Division in Vietnam, SFC Clark was awarded the Bronze Star medal with "V" Device for heroism. He also received a Purple Heart for wounds received in connection with military operations. He received several other medals and accommodations. He was employed for many years at Martin Army Hospital. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 267, a member of the Purple Heart Association and a member of the Disabled Veterans Association. He was also an active member of several other organizations. Survivors other than his mother, include his wife, Josephine Clark, Columbus, GA.; son, Paul C. Clark, Jr., San Francisco, CA.; two brothers, Lorenza Clark (Nimfa), Charlotte, NC., Garnett Clark, Queens, NY.; sisters, Glodine Dula, Irvington, NJ., Gretta Bailey, Coney Island, NY., faithful and dedicated brothers and sisters in law, George and Shirley Brown, Cartersville, GA., D.C. and Marie Baker, Ruth Patrick, Columbus, GA.; god daughters, Stephanie and Victoria Clemons, Austell, GA.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
