Mrs. Clark died Friday, May 17, at Plains Medical/Portales. She was born March 22, 1916 in Rhome Texas.
Mrs. Clark moved to the Forrest Community at 6 months of age.
The family moved to Portales in December of 1929 and she graduated from Portales High School in 1936. For two years Mrs. Clark attended Eastern New Mexico Junior College.
She married Polk Clark Dec. 9, 1939, in Portales. The couple made their home in the Rogers community for seven years before moving back to Portales.
While living in Portales, Mrs. Clark was employed for several years at Portales Valley Mills Peanut Processing Plant. She later became the bookkeeper at Woolsworth Variety Store. She retired when the store closed in 1970.
Mrs. Clark was a member of Rebekah Lodge and the East Valley View Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband, Polk Clark, Portales; and one brother, J.P. Ferrell Jr., Portales.
Casket bearers will be Larry Clark, Donald Clark, John Gentry, Wayne Hahn, Warren Wortham and Lee Ledgewood.
Honorary casket bearers will be Dr. Charles Lehman, Dr. Paddy Padmananbhan, Harold Knox, Billy Kiker, Troy Clark and all her friends.
