ASHEBORO Agnes Mae Bryant Clark, of 1733 Sunny Lane, Asheboro, heard the call from her family that had preceded her in death, and joined them Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005. She had looked forward to that reunion for a long time.

Born Jan. 2, 1925, in Dobson, to Troy and Alpha Bryant, Agnes lived and worked 80 years.

Agnes had always looked to help other people, and she worked helping others until her recent illness made this impossible. She enjoyed getting up early and cooking for others, and taking time to visit while her friends ate.
Agnes had on several occasions brought stray people home with her, opening her door as well as her heart. She was gracious and generous to a fault in helping those in their time of greatest need. Agnes supported Christian Ministry locally as well as worldwide as much as a retiree could on her limited income, often giving her last dime to others.

Surviving are her oldest son, Jim of Atlanta, Ga., and his wife, Carol, and her youngest son, J.R. of Asheboro, and his wife, Sue; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Agnes was the eldest of five girls, and also had an older brother, Lemuel. Her sisters are Mrs. Evelyn Vernon of Dobson, Mrs. Erma Paschal of Lincolnton, Mrs. Doris Atkinson of High Point, Mrs. Rachel Hodge of Wisconsin. Agnes had a daughter, Barbara Walker, whom she adopted into her family 35 years ago, who helped her tremendously, more than the sons could, especially these last few years. Agnes had many dear friends who also supported her with friendship. She cared deeply for all of her close friends, and loved all the visits, especially when she could no longer drive to visit others.

We will miss our mother and friend in some special way as we reflect back on how she touched our lives.
Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Oakhurst Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Clark, Sunny Lane, Asheboro.
