MISS ANNIE CLARK, whose death on Tuesday night was announced in The Globe, was buried on Thursday morning in the Lutheran Graveyard at Beaver Creek. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev Chas. Hott, of Boonsboro, who was assisted by Elder W S Hoye.
"The silver cord was loosened and the golden bowl was broken" just as she had passed from girlhood to womanhood.
She had all the Christian and feminine graces and the entire community gave evidence of their appreciation of her and her character by assembling in the "old white church on the hill" to pay their parting tribute of respect to her remains.
The discourse was earnest and impressive, often truly eloquent. A dark shadow has indeed fallen upon our community, and especially upon the intimate associates of the deceased, but they can find comfort in the consciousness that all things work together for good to such as she has been.
