[p.509] Clark, Asa, Medfield. Sergeant, Capt. Ephraim Chenery's co., Col. John Smith's regt., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; service, 13 days; also, Private, Capt. Sabin Mann's co. of Medfield militia; return of train band with equipments dated June 10, 1776; age, 46 yrs.; also, list dated Nov. 17, 1776, of men belonging to Medfield who received money for "turns done in last wars in the days of Capt. Morse, the 1st, and Capt. Coolidge;" also, Capt. Sabin Mann's co. of Medfield militia; service, 23 days; company ordered to march to Court House, Providence, thence to Warwick Neck, R. I., by Maj. James Metcalf; roll dated Cumberland, Dec. 9, 1776; also, Capt. Sabin Mann's co., Maj. James Metcalf's regt.; marched to Rhode Island on the alarm of Dec. 8, 1776; discharged Dec. 30, 1776; service, 23 days; also, list of men drafted to complete Continental Army, agreeable to a warrant issued by Lieut. John Baxter May 8, 1777; reported paid money in lieu of service.

Asa, 1730, married in 1758 Zillah Chenery (23), who died in 1826. he served as a selectman in 1777 and 1778, died in 1788. His homestead was in the extreme north part of the town, on Railroad Street."
