May Clark Obituary

May Clark, 78, passed away July 6, 1999, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born September 4, 1920 in Alpine, Utah to Charles Wesley and Elizabeth Ann Williams Clark. May grew up in a loving family and made friends easily. She attended school in Alpine and American Fork, graduating from High School and LDS Seminary in 1938. At an early age she displayed a very independent nature, wanting to do things "Her Way". This quality served her well as she grew up during the Depression and World War II. She supported herself working at a variety of jobs, mostly in the Salt Lake area. In 1974 she moved to Alpine to care for her aged father. When he died in October, 1975, she returned to Salt Lake, where she has resided for 23 years. Her family and friends will remember her as a generous and thoughtful person. She was very bright, articulate and willing to stand up for the things she believed in. She had many challenges in her life and met them with great courage.

May is survived by a brother, Lynn, West Valley; sisters; Ann Kluge, Salt Lake; Alice (Ted) Malquist, Provo; Faye (Merlin) Whitby, Alpine; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Clark, Kearns. To her 13 nieces and nephews she was a loving aunt and special friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vance; sister-in-law, Donna Clark, brother-in-law, Robert Kluge; also an infant brother, Kent; and sister, Alta.

Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial, Alpine Cemetery.

The family wants to express their thanks to May's neighbors, the Hospice Nurse and the staff at the Hillside Rehab. Center for their loving care.
