Evelyn Clarke Bost, 77, of Morganton, formerly of Hickory, died Sept. 6, 1997, at Grace Heights Nursing Center after a period of declining health.
Born Sept. 23,1919, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Willie L. and Happy King Clarke.
A member of First Baptist Church in Hickory, she was a private duty nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Alton Bost.
Survivors include a son, Joe Edward Bost of Hickory; a daughter, Gaye Bost Williams of Morganton; a sister, Flora Bost Small of Drexel; a grandson, Derek Bost of Hickory; and a granddaughter, Christy Matthews of Belmont.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Howard Fleming today at 3 p.m. at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.
