WADLEY, AL -- Funeral services for Beatrice Allen, 92, of Wadley were Thursday, September 22, 1994, at 2 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with Revs David A. Jones, Jack Womack and Kevin Hand officiating. Burial was at Wadley Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen died Wednesday, September 21, 1994 at Randolph County Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Allen was born October 15, 1901, daughter of J. B. and Mittie Wilkerson Clardy. She was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church and had worked in the cafeteria at Wadley High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Allen, a son, Ralph Allen, and grandson, James C. "Jim" Allen.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Allen of Wadley and Bill Allen of Heidelberg, MS; four grandchildren, Lynn Newsome of Asheville, NC, Brannan Allen and Bill Allen of Brandon, MS and Gina Hand of Greensburg, LA; three sisters, Mrs. Ina Shockley of Birmingham, Mrs. Delia Denny of Talladega and Mrs. Rosa Liles of Wadley; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brannan Allen, Ronald Newsome, Charles Clardy, James Rollins, Elliott Gay, Ray Jones and Bill Hardy Allen.
