Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10.30 AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Dante, SD. Rosary/ Wake services will be held 7:00 pm Monday at the church. Visitation will be 12:00 to 5:00 pm Monday at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Violet A. Koupal was born June 14, 1914 at Dante, SD, the daughter of Thomas and Julia (Skorpik) Cihak. She died December 27, 2008 at her home in rural Dante. Violet attained the age of 94 years, six months and 13 days.
Violet attended school through the eighth grade at a country school near Dante. She married Laddie R. Koupal on January 7, 1936 at Dante. Together they farmed and lived on the same farm for over 60 years. Laddie died November 10, 1996.
Violet was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. She will be remembered for her love for her grandchildren and her enjoyment of sewing and gardening.
Thankful for having shared her life are her son Douglas and wife Janet Koupal of Dante; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers: Bill, Tom, Joe, Leo and Donald; and three sisters: Wilma Sadler, Anna Petrik, and a sister at birth.
