Stella V. Cieslak
Stella V. Cieslak, 93, of East Vandergrift, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, where she was a patient for two weeks. She was born July 12, 1914, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Boleslaw and Bronislawa (Sosinski) Jaroszewski. Stella lived in Vandergrift most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, East Vandergrift. She enjoyed cooking, baking, doing ceramics and needlework. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus P. Cieslak, who died May 7, 2001; four brothers, John, Frank and Stanley Jaroszewski and Robert Jaros; infant sister, Hedwig Jaroszewski; and daughter, Joanne M. Adams, who died Sept. 5, 2005. Stella is survived by her daughter, Eileen M. Johnston, of Vandergrift; five grandchildren, Janice (David) Allman, of Allegheny Township, Maureen Adams, of Vandergrift, Brian (Jamie) Johnston, of Apollo, Scott Johnston, of Lower Burrell, and Paul Johnston, of Vandergrift; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexandra Allman, Joshua Pugliese, Zachary Pugliese, Edward Johnston, Alana Johnston, Mitchell Johnston and Amanda Johnston. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, Vandergrift. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, East Vandergrift, with Father Thaddeus Maida and Father Michael Sciberras co-officiating. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Mausoleum, Vandergrift.
