She attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts for a year and went on to receive her Certificate of Physical Education in 1923 at the Kellogg School of Physical Education in Battle Creek, Michigan. Katharine taught physical ed at Toledo Ohio, Oklahoma A. and M. University and Brooklyn Y.W.C.A.
She received her B.S. and Master of Arts at Columbia University. She moved to Seattle in 1937, where she taught at Helen Bush School for two years before becoming an office manager for LeSourd and Patten. Katharine is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial tea will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Horizon House in the Social Room.
