Researchers report that 3 brothers, John, Samuel, and Alexander changed their family name from Hogg to Church by Vermont legislature on 10/27/1809. Their parents were Alexander Hogg and Abigail Atwood. On November 3, 1785, in Weare, New Hampshire, Alexander married Patience Quimbe, born 9/16/1766, in Weare, NH. Researchers believe she died in the Franklin County Poor House. Her last payment from his pension was made in September 1853. They had 3 sons, Alexander, Samuel, and Ebenezer; and 5 daughters, Sally, Mary, Abigail, Aldulah, and Phebe (Farman).
