Demps was born Aug. 16, 1918 in Wilkes County to the late John William Church and Ina (Iner) Goodman Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Church and Savannah Church; and a brother, Walt Church.
Mr. Church was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a retired employee of Shuford Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Nina C. Church of the home.
