Rebecca "Becky" Armour, formerly of Newberg, died July 29, 2009 in Sandpoint, Idaho. She was 71.
She was born June 10, 1938, in Sandpoint to Arthur and Viola Chubb. She attended school there.
On Dec. 9, 1955, she married Donald Armour in Sandpoint. They moved to Newberg in 1968. She attended beauty school in McMinnville, graduating in 1974, before beginning a career as a beautician.
The couple moved to Longview, Wash., in 1978. Her husband preceded her in death in 1984. The following year, she returned to Idaho, living in the towns of Hope and Ponderay.
She enjoyed quilting, arts and crafts and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Sandpoint.
Survivors include: sons, Patrick of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and Ken of Gresham; daughters, Lisa Hazenberg of St. Paul and Natalie McCarthy of Longview, Wash.; brother Smokey Chubb and sister Paddy Wesselman, both of Sandpoint; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
A memorial service was held Aug. 4 in the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge. Committal took place in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
