Virginia was born to Wallace and Pauline (Weber) Phillips. She graduated from Omega High School in 1935. She married Gale "Abie" Christy June 7, 1936, in Kingfisher. He served in the Army for 33 years before they returned to Kingfisher in 1962. He died in 1973. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence D. Christy and Daryl E. Christy, both of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, Abie, she was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
