Donna M. Christopher, 49, a homemaker who loved caring for her family and had a nose for a good bargain, died yesterday at her Eltingville home of breast cancer.
Born Donna M. Dragonetti in Brooklyn, she moved to Rosebank in 1988, after her marriage, and settled in Eltingville in 2001.
Mrs. Christopher enjoyed making a home for her two daughters, whom she always helped with their homework. She cared devotedly for her husband, Stephen; the two were friends for eight years before their marriage twenty-two years ago.
Mrs. Christopher was best friends with her mother, Joan Dragonetti.
She was a graduate of St. John Villa Academy in Arrochar.
Mrs. Christopher enjoyed shopping, particularly hunting for bargains, and the company of Bailey, her cocker spaniel.
"She was a cool mom," said her daughter, Nicole Christopher.
"She was my best friend," said her daughter, Lauren Christopher.
Along with Stephen, her husband; her mother, Joan; and her two daughters, Laurie and Nicole, also surviving are her father, Daniel Dragonetti, and her brother, also Daniel.
The funeral will be held on Friday from the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Eltingville, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Rosebank.
Arrangements include cremation.
