CANDLER – Mattie Messer Green Christopher, 65, of Candler passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 peacefully at her home.

Born June 14, 1941 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of Pearl Conard Messer and the late Loyd Messer. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and also had cooked professionally at the Pisgah View Ranch for 36 years. She enjoyed spending time caring for her flowers in her beautiful flower garden; she loved people and was self-sacrificing to her family and many friends. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Asheville.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene; a son, Charles; and her husband, Bob Green.

Left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother are three daughters, Wanda Fenn, Alice Letmon and Bobbie McMahan; three sisters, Margaret, Pauline and Lucille; four brothers, Loyd Jr., Roy, Ben and James; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Sugar Cove Cemetery, Waynesville.
