AUSTIN -- Erma D. Blowers, 77, a resident of St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin and a retired longtime Geo. A. Hormel & Co. employee, died Wednesday (Jan. 20, 1993) at the nursing home.
Erma D. Christofferson was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Britt, Iowa, and moved to the Blooming Prairie area as a child and attended Blooming Prairie schools. On Oct. 14, 1933, she married Lester Blowers in Austin. After her husband's death in 1949, she began working at Hormel and continued there until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Colleen (Mrs. James) Palmisano of Maplewood, Minn.; a son, Daryl of Eagan, Minn.; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Jelinek of Blooming Prairie and Mavis (Mrs. James) Bishop of Austin; and a brother Wilbur Christofferson of Owatonna.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Harold L. Usgaard officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and an hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Stephen Ministry Program at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
