Budd Christner, 70, of New Brighton, formerly of Baden, died Dec. 28, 2001, in Kendred Hospital, formerly Vencor Hospital. Born May 31, 1931, in Garrett, he was a son of the late Walter and Helen Lohr Christner Beattie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Beattie, a sister, Martha (Annie) Mimna, and a grandson; Richard Belcher Jr. He is survived by his wife; Bessie (Lenhart) Christner; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Darlene Christner, Economy; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie Belcher Baskel and her husband Ronald, Aliquippa; grandchildren: Lori and Richard Lockhart, David Christner Jr. and Joseph Christner, all of Economy; and Brian and Jennifer Belcher, Baldwin; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Taylor Lockhart; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Sonja Beattie, Meyersdale; and Charles and Elaine Beattie, Berlin; and a loving companion, Judy Kuzma, New Brighton. There was no public viewing. A memorial service was held at the Paul E. Bohn Funeral Home, Ambridge, with the Rev. Cletus Fahrion, Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.
