Cheryl Gail (Jenkins) Christman, 63, of Kirksville, MO went to be with Jesus the morning of March 30th, 2014.

She was born in Indio, CA on November 23rd, 1950 to Paul and Emma Jenkins. She graduated from Cochella Valley High School where she was active in the choir, a letter girl for the Drill Team, and a member of Job's Daughters, Bethel 155.

She married Donald W. Christman on August 4th, 1967. Don and Gail moved from California to St. Louis, MO in 1972. They later lived in Greentop for a few years before settling in Kirksville, where they made their home with their three children. Gail enjoyed staying home with her children for several years before going to work for JC Penney in Kirksville. She eventually became the manager of the jewelry department and was "mom" to many college student employees through the years. JCP friends knew her as Cheryl and she devoted 33 years there, before retiring in May of 2012. Four months later she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Gail wanted everyone to be aware that she wished she had not postponed her routine preventative colonoscopy. Gail had a servant's heart bigger than anyone we've known and always made sure everyone's needs were met before her own.

Gail is survived by her husband Don of Kirksville; her children Tamara Bellings and husband Jim of Nixa, MO; daughter Sondra Garr of Kirksville; son Brad and wife Crystal of Springfield, MO; Grandchildren Katelyn, Makynna, Felicity, Sayde, and Rhett. Gail loved being a grandma and felt blessed to be allowed the time to meet her first grandson Rhett who is now 8 months old.
Gail was preceded in death by her Mother and Father.

Arrangements will begin Tuesday (April 1, 2014) at 3:30 p.m. for food and fellowship, 4:30 p.m. visitation, and 5:30 p.m. for funeral service at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Central Church of Christ in Kirksville, The American Cancer Society or the Wyatt Guest House (for friend and family of cancer patients).
