Film Director, Producer. Born in Ontario, Canada, he began his career with the Nestor Film Company in 1909 and was put in charge of production for a series of Hollywood westerns in 1912. Starting his own productions with his brother Charles Christie, Hollywood became the home of Christie Film Company, incorporating on June 15, 1917. He went on to produce over 750 films and direct over 430 films. His credits include "The Milky" (1917), "Hard luck" (1919), "Call a Cop" (1925), "Air Parade" (1937), "Half a Sinner" (1940) and "It pays to be Funny" (1947). He died in Hollywood, California, at age 69 and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
