Bart died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Bishop Drumm Care Center. Bart was born March 4, 1922 in Flathead County, Montana to Peter and Emily Christianson. The family later moved to Tacoma, Washington.
He joined the Navy, served his country in WWII and received a Purple Heart. While attending Iowa State University, he met Wilma Jean Welsh and they were married in 1945. Bart worked at KRNT/KCCI for 33 years as an engineer and retired in 1985.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Wilma Jean Christianson; his son Bart, Jr. and his wife Nancy; his daughter, Kathie Jones and her husband John; and his daughter, Karen Christianson. He is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Kim Jones, Chad and Nikki Christianson, Jessica and Craig Purscell, Jay and Angie Christianson, Joe and Sabrina Phillips, and Michelle Phillips and Pete Wegner. Also surviving Bart are five great-grandchildren, Kaelee and Kate Jones, Rylie and Raegan Christianson, Sara and Susanna Purscell, and Matthew Wegner. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
A private family service is planned with interment to be at Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
