MORIAH, N.Y. – Francis "Frank" A. Christian, age 83, of Moriah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8th 2020 at the CVPH Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born on March 28th 1937 in Ellenburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Francis Louis and Frances E. (Whittemore) Christian.

Frank served in the U.S. Army. Much of his time spent in the service was spent in Germany.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Nancy Carol (Kelso) Christian. Together they had five children; four daughters and one son. She predeceased him on July 17th 2014.

In his younger years Frank was employed by mines in Tahawus, N.Y. as a Forman until he earned his blaster/drilling license/certification at which, time he was employed by Pike Construction, Reale Construction, and many other construction companies across the New England states.

Frank enjoyed deer hunting with his son and friends. He was also an avid fisherman and loved fishing for smelt, perch, bullhead and lake fish. You could find him on Lake Champlain during the winter months renting shanties to people from the city which, is how he met some of his closest friends. He took great pride in his garden which, was the size of a football field. He also took pride in delivering his prize vegetables to family and friends for them to enjoy.

Besides his parents and loving wife, he was predeceased by one son; Arthur "Art" R. Christian in 2007, one sister; Rita M. (Christian) Brown in 1996, and one brother Richard "Dick" John Christian in 2020.

Arrangements by the Harland Funeral Home on 4279 Main Street in Port Henry, N.Y.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 15th 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery on Dugway Road in Moriah, N.Y.
