Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Golda Jean Christensen Kimber "SIS", passed away peacefully at home with her family gathered around her on July 24, 2004, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was born July 1, 1949, in Moab, Utah, to Edward Leo Christensen and Ilene Griffiths. Golda met the love of her life, Doyle Kimber, in September of 1974, and they were married on July 4, 1975, and shared 29 glorious years together.

Everyone who knew Golda knew that if they ever needed anything that she would give herself and her time to them. She was a wife and mother who was always there for her family. She built her home near her mother so she could always be close to her. her greatest delight was in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to build, remodel and decorate her home. In fact, when Doyle would leave to work out of town for a week, he would sometimes return to find the kitchen remodeled, including new cupboards (which she made herself) or a new bedroom or bathroom added to the house. There was nothing she could not do. She loved to play golf. She enjoyed camping but she never wanted to be away from home for more than three or four days at the most. She was a valued employee of Continental Telephone and City Market for many years.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward Leo Christensen, and her brother Dick H. Christensen.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Kimber; daughter, Melinda Jean Mayberry; sons Shannon Kimber of Moab, Utah, and Brandon (Kristin) Kimber Price; stepsons Scott (Michelle) Kimber, Steve (Shelly) Kimber, and Kevin (Lisa) Kimber, all of Ogden, Utah; stepdaughter Brenda (Chuck) Glover, Roy, Utah; mother, Ilene "Teen" Christensen, Moab, Utah; brother, Ted Christensen, Moab, Utah; sister, Colene Terwillenger, Moab, Utah; four grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be a grave side service at the Christensen family cemetery located at Hole in the Rock on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at 2 p.m. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Hospice for all their help.

July will be a month of remembrance because our beloved Golda was born on the first of July, married on the fourth, and left us on the 24th. "Sis" we love and miss you dearly.
