Mary Adams-Hunt, 86, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2013.

Mary was born November 11, 1926 in Provo, Utah, Utah to Thomas Cleveland and Nellie May Vohland Christensen. She married Douglas Frank Adams on July 23, 1946 in Orem, Utah, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Douglas passed away November 28, 1983. Later she married Miles J. Hunt on November 3, 1989 in Provo. Miles passed away September 29, 2002.

Mary grew up in Provo, Lynndyl, and Cedar City, as their family traveled for employment with the Union Pacific Railroad. She graduated from Cedar City High School and LDS Seminary in 1944. Mary was active in many plays, choirs, and loved music. She lived her married life in Orem, Lindon, and Pleasant Grove. Many old-time residents remember the small family business in Lindon, Adams Bait Box. Mary also was known to many as a waitress at the Frontier Café, Wastach Café, Bob's Café and Corlessions Café. Mary worked in many homes, cleaning and caring for older people and children. She loved deer hunting and camping with her husband, family and friends. Other interests include family and grandchildren, sewing, quilting, cross stitch, crocheting, writing, woodwork, traveling, reading, music, metal detecting, collecting coins, refinishing furniture, antiques, poetry, going to the movies and watching TV.

Mary was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. She was especially fond of serving in Relief Society.

She is survived by four children: Nolan D. (Annette) Adams, West Jordan; Mary Ann (Harry) Cockrell, Magna; Thad (Rosemary) Adams, Orem and Nanalie (Joe) Knotts, Payson; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandsons: Joseph Adams; Christian Adams and DJ Knotts and great-grandson, Lyric Douglas Rivera.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove.

Family and friends may attend a viewing Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.

Mary's quote, "I would like to have my obituary end with this thought….That I would be honored to have people say I was a friend and a confidant. My children and my grandchildren are my greatest pride and joy."
