Death: Oct. 18, 1943

Second Lieutenant Christensen was a Bombadier
aboard B-17F Flying Fortress #42-6042, serving
with the 398th Bomb Group, 600th Bomb Squadron
from Rapid City Army Air Base.

One of eight airmen killed when his aircraft
struck Stormy Peaks, west of Fort Collins,
Colorado, during a nighttime navigational
training flight.

The other crew members killed were:

2nd Lt. Richard N. Creamer, pilot
2nd Lt. Joseph R. Arnold, Jr., co-pilot
2nd Lt. Warren M. Dean, navigator
S/Sgt. William N. Cook, flight engineer
Sgt. Philip M. Doddridge, radio operator
Sgt. Carl E. Hamre, gunner
Sgt. Robert J. Hopkins, radio operator
