The oldest of four children, she was born on November 23, 1932 to Lorin C. and Edwina May Bassett Christensen of Bear River City. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1951.
She attended nursing school at Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital on 24th Street in Ogden. After graduating from nursing school, she worked at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City prior to getting married.
She married Murray E. Cannon in the Logan LDS Temple on September 8, 1952; residing in Clearfield for 54 years. He passed away on June 24, 2010. She loved to learn and decided to go back to school, graduating from Weber State College with an accounting degree in June 1958.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many positions including Relief Society and Primary President. She served regularly in the LDS Temple with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to silhouette shoots with her husband and to other vacation destinations.
She is survived by one sister, Lorie (Lynn) Davis, Virginia; brother in law, Frank Roundy, Brigham City; children: Clifford M (Cindy) Cannon, Clearfield; Chris E. (Jill) Cannon, St George; John R. Cannon, Clearfield, and Mary Alice (Travis) Smith, Honeyville, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Anton Christensen, and sister, Joan Roundy.
Interment will follow in the Fielding Cemetery, Fielding, UT.
