Barbara June Chivington, 70, of Lakeview, Ohio, died Friday, June 21, 2002, in University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born June 25, 1931, in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of Irvin and Pearl (Vian) Friedly. She was a graduate of Van Wert High School and was a member of Indian Lake Community Church. Barbara is deeply loved by her family, and her youthful spirit will be sorely missed.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gale and Dave Branson and Elise and Dan Branson, all of Bellefontaine, Ohio; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sonia Chivington of Ventura, Calif., Dennis and Vickie Chivington of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Kent and Heather Chivington of Riverside, Calif., and Kevin and Linda Chivington of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Phyllis Dougal of Van Wert, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David in 1991; and great-granddaughter, Abbygale Rinbolt.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 24, in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Highland Chapel, West Liberty, Ohio, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
