Armin Cay Chisholm - SAVANNAH - Armin Cay Chisholm died peacefully on July 22, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of John Eugene Cay and Caroline Palmer Cay. She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend William W Chisholm. A lifelong resident of Savannah, she thoroughly enjoyed every facet of her community either serving or volunteering for many organizations. She was a graduate of Pape School, Oldfields School and Hollins College. She was a past President of Savannah Speech and Hearing Center, past president of the Louisa Porter Society, past treasurer of the Junior League of Savannah and board member of Senior Citizens. Armin was a member of the Colonial Dames, the Trustee Garden Club, and Women of Bethesda Academy. She also had a wonderful time enjoying what Savannah had to offer in outdoor activities playing golf, hunting and enjoying her very special place on the May River in Bluffton SC with her family and friends. Being quite the golfer she was very proud of her three hole-in-ones. Armin was a lifelong member of St John's Episcopal Church, and was a member on the chancel society and the women of the church. She is survived by her children, William W Chisholm Jr (Susie Grantham Chisholm) of Savannah and Caro Chisholm Carter (William James Carter) of Atlanta; a sister in law Mrs. Polly Brooks. She has five grandchildren , Katherine McQueen Chisholm (Jerome Gambrell),Caroline Palmer Chisholm of Atlanta , William W Chisholm III ( Nikki) , Kelle Carter Bruno ( Keith ) of Bayfield CO., William J Carter Jr of Atlanta; three great grandchildren Lillian Armin Carter of Birmingham Ala., Nathan Kane Gambrell and Lawton Alexander Gambrell. Armin has numerous nieces and nephews who have always been very dear to her. A special thanks to all her caregivers and Hospice Savannah for all of their wonderful and dedicated service to our mother from the Chisholm/Carter families. A very special thanks to David Gibson for all he did for both Armin and Bill over the past four years, a true angel and saint. A celebration of the life of Armin Cay Chisholm will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, July 25 at 12:00 Noon and a reception to follow at the Green Meldrim House. A private family burial will follow after the reception at Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to St John's Episcopal Church, Green Meldrim Restoration Fund, 1 West Macon Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or Hospice Savannah, P.O.
