OBITUARY:
Erma L. Chinn

PORTSMOUTH -- Erma L. Chinn, 77, of the 800 block of Madison St., died
Oct. 5, 2001, in a Portsmouth hospital.

A native of Pontiac, Mich., she was the widow of Stanley Gerald Chinn and
retired from Portsmouth General Hospital as an LPN. Mrs. Chinn was a
member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a Baptist missionary in the
Belgian Congo, and a Red Cross volunteer.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah C. Chinn of Virginia Beach; a son,
Gerald A. Chinn and wife Sherry of Chesapeake; a brother, Hank Ludwig
and wife Muriel of Rochester, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Betty Ludwig; two
grandchildren, Carla and Erica; a great-grandchild, Stephanie Renee; and
host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home,
Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Allen L. Dooley. Burial will be in
Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

She was loving and giving and will be missed by all."
