Betty Chinn, 85, Clarence, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her residence near Clarence.
She was born November 11, 1927, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Lee Francis and Lillian Stewart Boling. she married Roy Chinn on November 28, 1946. He died on July 2, 1990.
Survivors include five children, Martha Wood and husband Chuck, Clarence, Gary Chinn and wife Kathy, Macon, Kathy Thrasher, Clarence, and friend Danny Stidham, Connie Thrasher and husband Leslie, Clarence and Roy Lee Chinn, Clarence; ten grandchildren, Kelly (Drayse) Wood, Christina (Tracy) Sellmeyer, Kevin (Chris) Chinn, Kyle Chinn, Dwayne (Carrie) Thrasher, Tracy (Matt) Zachariah, Travis (Jessica) Thrasher, Selena (Aron) Gaines, R. J. Chinn and Danielle Chinn; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret A. Kibler, Wentzville; one brother, Allyn (Marcia) Boling, Clarence; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Mettes, Jefferson City and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one brother, Stewart Boling.
Mrs. Chinn was a graduate of Clarence High School and attended Kirksvville State Teachers College and Gem City Business College. She was a member of the Clarence Methodist Church. She enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, flowers, and cooking. She liked to make Christmas candy and distribute it to her family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved the time she spent with them.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 4, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence with Elaine Allred officiating. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence.
Visitation preceded the services.
