ALBERT G. CHINN Beloved son of the late Bing and Shu Ping Chinn. Loving husband of 53 years to Etta Chinn. Cherished father of Wendy Peter and the late Dr. Diane Chinn-Thompson. Respected father-in-law of Dr. James S. Thompson and Reto A. Peter. Adored grandfather of Alice Chinn-Thompson and Natalie Peter. Loving brother to Bessie Mar, Mabel Yee, Walter Chinn, the late Anita Doung, Carole Luey, Florence Chinn, Judy Chinn and Gary Chinn. Respected brother-in-law to Lucile Cheung, Victor Mar, the late Dr. Donald Yee, the late Mildred Chinn, the late Glenn Doung, Charles Luey and Sylvia Chinn. Caring uncle and grand-uncle to many relatives, and admired by colleagues and friends. Albert graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Public Health in 1953. Immediately after graduating, he was enlisted by the United States Army and served in the Korean War from 1954-1955. After serving his country, he began his career as a health inspector in Pasadena, Calif. Within two years, he was transferred to San Francisco, Calif., where he continued his successful career until he retired as principal health inspector in 1991. Well-liked by all, with his wonderful sense of humor and warm personality. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, and was always busy doing projects around the house. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, May 13, 2004, at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on May 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Albert Brown Mortuary, 3476 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Asian Health Services, 818 Webster Street, Oakland, CA 94607.
