Services for, Darlene J. Ayers, 55, Meriden, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at
Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mrs. Ayers died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at her home.
She was born March 3, 1952, in Lawrence, the daughter of Harry Leroy and Minnie Marie Sellers Chinn. She was a lifetime resident of Lawrence and moved to Meriden to live with family because of health concerns.
Mrs. Ayers worked at Honeywell Co. in Lawrence for 15 to 20 years and retired because of a disability.
She married Robert Ayers in 1974. They divorced in 1994.
Survivors include three sons, James R., and Jason L. Ayers, both of Lawrence, and Jeffery S. Ayers, Eudora; two brothers, William L. Chinn Sr., Meriden, and Harry "Junior" Chinn and wife Carolyn, Lawrence; three sisters Dorothy M. Moore and husband Dennis, McLouth, Doris M. Decker, Topeka, and Donna Garner-Shughart, Meriden; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her father in 1982.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home.
