Dwight Leo Chiles was born at Ridgeway, Mo., March 1, 1913, and passed away at Talihina hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1937, aged 24 years.
He was the son of Dr. J.W. Chiles and Elsie Imogene Chiles. His mother preceded him in death Aug. 31, 1931.
Besides his father, he leaves his stepmother and two brothers and one sister; Ralph Chiles (twin brother) of Oklahoma City; Dawson Chiles, at home; Elsie Ann Chiles, Lowry City, Mo.
Dwight graduated from Stillwater highschool and attended A. and M. college for one year. He then went to Oklahoma City and finished in Blackwood-Davis Business college.
He was employed as stenographer in the Oklahoma City police department. He was a member of the First Christian church and the DeMolay. In December of 1935 he was stricken with pneumonia and was ill for eight months. He went back to work and in April 5, 1937, he was taken ill and was at home for four weeks and then went to Talihina hospital.
Funeral services will be held at the First Christian church in Stillwater Friday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. John A. Callan officiating. Burial will be at Fair Lawn cemetery under direction of Strode Funeral home.
