The community was saddened on Sunday night when it was learned a beloved one had passed on. A death like hush followed the cold icy fingers of death.

The beautiful life of Mrs. Tommie Hanks is gone from our midst, a mother's ambition for her children is stilled. But a mother's influence will liveon.

Interment was in Evergreen cemetery at 3:30 Monday afternoon. Pall bearers were members of the fire department of Shreveport. The deceased is survived by her husband, three children: Louise, Tommie, Jr., Marie; her grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Childs; four sisters, Mrs. J.T.
