J. T. Childress, age 55, of Apache Drive, died Monday, Jan 7, 1974, at 6:30 a.m. in the Veterans Hospital in Marion Ill.

Mr Childress, a native of Webster County, Ky., was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Princeton.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was employed by Robertson Lumber Co. before ill health forced his retirement about 3 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Francis Myers Childress ; two sons, Michael and Bradley Childress, both of Princeton ; two daughters, Mrs Kenneth Gilkey of Evansville, Ind. and Mrs Peggy Barnes of St Louis, Mo.;
two stepchildren, Mrs Pat McChesney, Dawson Springs, and Mrs Kathy Phelps of Princeton ; a brother, Erve H. Childress, Caldwell County ; two sisters, Mrs Wallace (Myrtle) Byard, and Mrs Herbert (Blondell) Jenkins, both of Princeton, and three grandchildren, and one step-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev Douglas Anderson officiating.
