Jessie Childress, 67, of Princeton, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at 4:10 p.m. at his home, following a short illness.
Born March 16, 1944, in Christian County, a son of
the late George and Mattie Elizabeth Jefferson Childress, he was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Edward Childress; two brothers, Rudell Childress and George Childress; and two sisters, Rosa Mae Cook and Louella Cotton.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wilson Childress; three sons, Michael Todd Childress, Jessie Lee Childress Jr. and Jason Paul Childress, all of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Michael Todd Childress 11, Taylor Childress, Heather Boyd, Amanda Childress, Dalton Childress, Timmy Childress and Alex Childress; three great-grandchildren, Huston Boyd, Bentley Boyd and Drake Preston Childress; a step-grandson Charlie Sharratt; a brother, Roy Cecil Childress of Princeton; two sisters Lorray Cotton of Caldwell County and Martha Davis of Dawson Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Don Gabbard officiating.
Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
