Joyce Childers Apperson, 75, of Sylvester, died Thursday April 3, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday April 5, 2014 with interment to follow in the Apperson Family Cemetery. The Rev. Jackie Cabiness and the Rev. Wendell Apperson will officiate.
Mrs. Apperson was born on February 2, 1939 in Rome, GA to the late Fred Marion and Bonnie Wilma Swanson Childers. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was formerly employed with Peter Pan Peanut Butter. Mrs. Apperson enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching her hummingbirds. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Aubrey Apperson of Sylvester; daughters, Beverly A. Brandon (Virgil) of Sylvester, Tammy A. Stinson (Marshall) of Sylvester, Merita Sullivan (James) of Tifton and Kelley Apperson of Sylvester; sisters, Barbara Kelly of Rossville, GA., Imogene Yeatts of Tobaccoville, NC., Hazel McDowell of Sylvester and Joann Chauncey of Kingsland, GA.; brothers, Fonda "Bud" Childers of Poulan, Frankie Childers of Doles and Richie Childers of Sylvester; grandchildren, Brian Brandon, James Clinton Sullivan and 1 great grandchild, Evan James Sullivan.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Apperson was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Brandon and 5 siblings.
